My email with these losers has been down for over a week.

I am currently trying to find a decent php/mysql web hosting company. 

They took their phone numbers off their website and disconnected them for a while.

It's impossible to get a decent response from these people.

Support from these guys is non-existent.  Don't waste our money here.  Their web site promises 24/7 support but I haven't been able to get any contact in over a week.

Feature Price has been nothing but frustrating! Websites down, email intermittant, and Customer Service... well, the word "service" should not be there. No phone availability, hidden "chat rooms" (no reference as to how to find), help tickets unanswered until the crisis is old, etc. We are getting out.

not email for weeks, no contact with customer support for months.  Now as of 4/28 @12:52 am west coast time the whole site went down again.  They were very good when I first got them, in 12/01 24 hour support call back was great then about 4 months ago all went down the toilet.

We've had flakey access to mail server since last year (2002). Have never been able to connect to helpdesk.featureprice.com - never! Our mail server has not been responding for last 2 weeks - prior to this has been very flakey. Email from my ISPs domains (optusnet.com.au & optushome.com.au) to users@featureprice.com is being blocked (tagged as spam).
... so even if we have a problem, we can't contact them to get it fixed.
We'll be changing hosting service.

This company USED to be a great bargain with great support.  Now my clients' (MANY clients whom I have referred to this company) and my own site are constantly going down.  If the site isn't down, the e-mail server is down.  Their support SUCKS! I don't even try to get them on the phone anymore, they don't answer their trouble tickets with any real answers and e-mail support is virtually non-existent.  They also take over your domain name the minute it expires, so if it lapses, you have to wait for their online services to work before being able to get online, decipher their instructions, renew your domain name with THEM and HOPE that their services are online long enough for you to move your site to someone more reliable.

This company also does NOT believe in ethical conduct.  Once they've got your money, say goodbye! I'd put my name and site down, but they may get pissed and screw me up even more...not that my site is ever up anyway.

These guys, by far, are the WORST experience with web hosting I have EVER come across.  They have set new standards in poor service, unreliablility, and ripping you off.  I know for a fact that the Florida Attorney General's office has started an investigation into their practices.  Call them if you want proof! There's talk on another review board about starting a class action suit against FeaturePrice...I might have to join.  I just feel bad for recommending my clients to them because now I have to deal with their down time and problems as well! DON'T USE THESE GUYS!!!!

When we buy the premium plan last august, this hosting was good. But 1½ month ago, we got several problems with email when they change their server. Since, it's just crap.. We actually can't reach our mail, it take 1 week to add a subdomain, and the helpdesk and chat doesn't work!.. Also, i mail them and still haven't receive a reply since 3 days.. i was receiving answer in 24hrs when we bought this service..

I'm gonna change in few days.. because now this hosting suck really bad..

I can't send nor receive mails through my account, hosted on FeaturePrice.

If you need some help on your server, you might place a ticket and then they answer you. Try to access http://helpdesk.featureprice.com. It's down since 4/22/2003.

By the way, I'm still trying to transfer my domain. They offered to register my domain but they registered THEIR domain. So, now I can't transfer it. Simply unbelievable.

Service was reasonably good from Feb 2002 - Dec 2002, then suddenly service hit rock bottom, slowed to a crawl, support system went offline, HTTP access down for days at a time. AVOID!!

I switched to these jokers after using CIHost just over a year ago(another joker outfit, I guess my luck on web hosts sucks) lest I digress.......  Anyhow FP started off really good and reliable.  Very professional and quick to respond to any problems.  Noticed this last October that there was an increase in server outages.  When I was prompted to renew I was automatically placed into their new server.  When I finally got my files uploaded, domains up and running all my sites were broken.  I use front page extensions and no matter what, they would not configure properly.  After spending untold hours / days I went back to Plesk.  Everything worked flawlessly for all of last week.  The site still usually works but my mail is very sporadic and I'm lucky if I can retrieve it once a day.  Since I had problems getting my e-mail this week I tried to contact them through their "no help desk" and found that the links to all of their support are broken.  I'm glad these clowns do not have control of my domains as I have them registered elsewhere.  This whole experience really pisses me off as now having to go and find a reliable hosting service and then transfer everything over is not going to be fun at all.  Lots of reconfiguration and 350 megs or so of image files and pages.  I hope these idiots burn in hell. This has cost me untold business.

My site dissapeared several times, couldn't get email for days at a time. When I could get through their convoluted "help" mechanism I was treated to terse "we couldn't find any problem, case closed" messages to which they would not accept a reply. AVOID!!!

Over all before 2003 I gave FeaturePrice.come a B for web hosting.. I like the helpdesk and it was able to help me with the problems that I was having.
HOWEVER, after 2003 many problem have start.. I wont list them cause it is the same as other ppl have posted..
I hope FeaturePrice.Com can shape up and reorganize.

Feature Price has always had abominable service. However, they offered a good price for a lot of space - but you get what you pay for.

I am wondering if they are now at the bitter end. My site and email was down for several days. The site is back up but my email availability is sparatic at best. I am loosing out on a lot of important emails. When I call support, customer service or even sales phone numbers, I get a message saying they are only available between 9 to 5 Monday through Friday. Of course I am calling a 1:00 PM on a Wednesday (and Tuesday as well). When I try to access the online help system, I get a MySQL error. I've sent numerous emails to the various addresses I've found and I've gotten no response. I am to the point now where I just want my domain in my own name so I can transfer it to another service provider, but it doesn't look like they will be accomadating.

I have been with these guys for about 2 years.  They offer a lot...

-Host multiple domains
-Unlimited this
-Great up time
-Great support
-bla bla

In my 2 years, I have had more then 15 problems with these guys.  From email addresses not sending or receiving, to total CGI-BIN shut down, losing all my data (5 times total), it's been a tough 2 years.  They offer soo much, but it's only their to bring you in.  Once your in, everything is crap.

My newest complaint, and my "final straw", deals with their current status.  They are doing LARGE changes, were everyone needs to change their DNS to new servers, we will get new logins for helpdesks, and more changes.  I have NEVER received an email about this.  And this has been 3 months waiting.  So now, I have found that my site has been down a lot.  Did I not switch my DNS in time? Could be my fault.  So I have been attempting to get a hold of someone now for 2 weeks, and no one is ever on their "live chat".  They don't offer email or phone tech support.  And their Help Desk has been displaying an error.  So I twiddle my thumbs, waiting and waiting to get my 4 sites back up and running.

Don't use these guys.  You will be throwing away your money.  Oh, and don't try getting back your Year Membership since they do not offer money back, even when they F-up over and over.

My first yeaqr with featureprice,com was uneventfull. After I renewed and was put on the new servers with the new control panel, it was a nightmare from day one. Tookj three weeks to get the site up and running. During that time I placed numerous calls to tech support and the sales desk. The phone would answer and say Thank you ... please call again, and then hang up. emails to tech support were answered with"your problem has been refered to the Server Administrator, if you have any more questions please call again". The problems were not fixed. Currently the site is down, and cannot be azcessed thruogh the control panel or FTP. The help desk is "Page not Found" the Featureprice.com site is" Page not Found" I cannot even get hold of anyone to get my Domain name released so that I can move it elsewhere.

The host was competent when I got on about 9 months ago.  Now in the last few months my site has been up and down and you can't get any support at all.  They want even call you back and all there number are constanty busy.  The online chat doesn't work and you cant upgrade your cpanel without extended your agreement.

What ever you do don't choose the provider it has cost me money and has definitely added to my gray hair count.

I registered a domain when I signed up for the Premium package in April 02.  I never received a renewal and then my site is dropped.  I have tried using their renewal on-line which led to dead links.  Then I called their sales number which was forwarded to customer support with the message "we are open 9-5 eastern time." I called on a Monday at 10:30a eastern time.  I have tried using their trouble ticket system and my tickets are closed and marked as 'resolved' with the comment "have patience." My site has now been down for over 10 days and no resolution is in sight.  I also have a platinum plan that expires in November.  My sites are down frequently and email is inconsistent.  I have been removed from mailing lists due to "inability to deliver mail" to a feature price hosted account.  Feature price proves the old addage "you get what you pay for!"

The webhosting itself is OK, but the support and email hosting is pathetic.  They have changed support methods twice in less than 6 months, have no records of tickets prior to system changes, and don't really respond to the issues.

The email service is also apparently filtered for spam (an issue that Feature Price simply won't address) and we cannot receive email from some (non-spam) sources.

Email servers have slow or no respons on a regular basis.  Right now, I haven't had email for over 24 hours.

These guys started out good when I was using the PLESK system. They responded fairly quickly, and even helped me out when I had some very simple questions. Now, I get referred to their "users" manual. I've written manuals, and that thing is a piece of crap. Their service is terrible, their support is terrible, and I've had no mail support for over 1 week periods in the past. My mail is still not working at all. I'm dropping them as soon as I find a new host, and I'm looking right now.
DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE.

I'm not really too concerned about people getting soaked by these guys now, because even their own sales line and online sales system are down.

Tech support was the worst -- out and out liars. You'd submit a ticket because your mail is down. For a whole day! Twelve hours later your mail is suddenly working, and their response is "I just checked and it is working fine." Yeah, right.

My domain has been inaccessible for the better part of the month. Constant emails to the help desk come back with the same canned message with misspellings and poor grammar. By the names of the support personnel I would say support has been outsourced to India.

Phone calls to them get busy signals, no answer or an automated machine that hangs up on you.

Emails go nowhere as they only have a couple listed on the web site. Emails to the billing address come back undeliverable.

My annual contract is up in one month and I can't get access to my database to download data. I've already moved all my pages and other data to hostdime.com and I am very pleased.

AVOID FEATURE PRICE AT ALL COSTS! There are too many good host out there that will provide you with good service. I should have checked this site before dealing with them.

I have four domains associated with my account.  This was actually a good find last year.  Now, since they changed servers, they have gone to hell-in-a-handbasket.  My email is down all the time.  I had a heck of a time getting everything transferred from the PLESK system to the new one.  They do however, answer and provide helpful support on the email support feature.  It appears (by grammer and sentence structure) that support is outsourced to another company in another country.

I will not renew with them.  I just hope that I can get my domains released after reading all these other reviews.  I signed up for the potential class action suit.

I would not recommend this company for a host company any longer.

I have my personal web site there as well as several client web sites.  I'll be moving all of them soon.  I had my company's corporate web site hosted there and the customer service was awful.  The real problems started after they upgraded to the new interface.  They stopped answering calls and I was concerned they were going under.  So I moved my company's web site to Webintellects. 

Much better over at Webintellects - you can talk to a human at tech support during normal business hours and my nights and weekend emails have been answered within two or three hours. 

All my other client sites are in process of being moved to different hosting companies.  I will not put all my eggs in one basket again.

I convinced my father in law to use Feature Price hosting for his hobby web site and he could not get help and so he decided to move to another host.  Well guess what? They kept his domain name! They will not release it.  He tried 4 or 5 times and he even got his new hosting Co to try - and FP still would not release it.

Not ethical people at Feature Price in my opinion.

it would take several tomes to describe the way featureprice has managed, time over time, to avoid giving any real support! At times, the emailed reponses to my very specific questions seemed to have been auto responders!!!

Also, the server on which our site resided just died one day, and it took 3 days of calling and basically weeping on the phone and through email to be told what had happened and that i had to reupload everything to a new server...well 10 days later i was still waiting to be assigned a new account so i could do the uploading!!!

what's sad is that when i first signed on with them, about 3 years ago, they were great! no down times, personal, timely responses to emails, etc. i guess this is what greed does to people - let's load up on 30,000 customer and have 10 tech support people who can't read english or know little to nothing about running a web server and voila! you have featureprice.com 2003!

The features they offer are great and the prices competative compared to other companies, but this becomes irrelevant when your site has been down for days and you feel completely ignored and you're losing a ton of money because your business depends on your web presence.

I've had my web site with this company since July of 2002 and they have really gone bad.  My pop mail account won't work at all, no response to any phone numbers (although the long distance call goes through and the automated machine picks up making sure it cost you money before they disconnect on the Featureprice end).  Stay away, I think they have stopped providing any services but are still taking money.

Up until recently I had no real reason to complain, although in the setting up of the site the support was spotty and my questions were often misinterpreted.I felt like i was talking to the Wizard Of Oze's doorman. {"No one gets in to see the Wizard....."} Well, I was a newbie at this and blamed myself for not catching on quicker. My 300 page site has not had any serious down time since its posting in September ......til this week- we are on our third day of zilcho site,gone- inexplicably..... and while it's non profit you all still know how frustrating it is.And scary- we put a lot of love, money and time into our sites- and are all aware that they can go Poof!!! My site is run principally for the benefit of my handicapped son-{autism} it's his whole world and takes up a big part of his day. I would'nt care if it was down a Week if there was a serious *real* reason for it to be so- hey- [snipped] happens. But the unprofessional, ignoring attitude of the company is really undermining them, and now that I see there are so many complaints a definate pattern is emerging. Are they fraudulent or screamingly incompetant? Why dont they automate a generic email apologizing for the inconvinience???Explain whats going on???? If this happens again I'll definately switch.This is the last time I choose a server by closing my eyes and throwing wet Gummi Bears at the screen.

Only long distance support (freephone never works). Tech support in Moscow and never does anything except break promises. Massive downtime, email forwarding invariably fails and they are being investigated by FBI, Internic, Florida Better Business Bureau and Florida Attorney General. Asks for copy of driving license for credit card sales (!) and does not honor refunds. Look around at other hosting sites and make you own mind up. Beware they have hundreds of resellers. They also own a domain registry company to protect all their domains so you can't retreive your domain. 100% crooked.

All I was looking for was a reliable server that could host my site.  I've had dozens of people say they have been unable to e-mail me or log onto my site.  As a result I have lost numerous potential clients.  Usually, the "server down" problem only lasted a day, but it's gone on for several days now.  This is the last straw.  Am unable to reach anyone via customer service.

All they had to do was renew my account and they could not do it even though they dinged my credit card. When the account expired they shut it down even though they had my money....this company is a fraud.

I hate them, I hate them, I hate them.

The most horrible experience of my online life. Abysmal service, smug unprofessionalism, a horror story from cyber hell.

They will take down your site on a whim, and not give you ample warning......they did this to me because of a wayward script that was not working properly, therefore sucking up bandwidth. So instead of telling me about it, they shut me down. Then, I couldn't receive any email because I use POP addresses. So my business was put on hold. They didn't even email me with a heads up.

I loathe them with every fiber of my being.

When a day went by where my pop emails worked and my sites were up, it was a divine gift. I would shake my head in amazement that my sites were up and working.

Sure, they take your money and can give you [snipped] service because why should they care? They already have your money. There's no reason to care.

I hope they go out of business. Soon. Today. Now.

Ok i have found a way to get these lying bastards on the phone it has worked 2 times now that i have tried it, ok when you click on helpdesk to submitt ticket it send you to the username and pw section , now for the good part if you are selected for phone support after you sign in you will see a special phone number directly to a administrator, OK now you ask "i have never seen this" well the reason is you have upload extremely large files and make them warez or ripped files like windows xp or something copyrighted, they then will shut off your website YEA now thats a laugh it dont work half the time anyway, ok after uploading the files go to a chat room and post the link and let the world know these are there for download, ok your site will get shut off and when you see the "Site administrator please contact web host administrator" ok then when you go to featureprice help desk sign in after you sign in you will see a special 800 number WEEEE anf then you will get the system administrator , this guy was a barrel of laughs and a complete ahole,, just my liite iggy on how to get to the lead administrator, and after talking with this guy he procedded to ream me for putting these on the site and told me TOLD ME not to be a dumbass...lol.. he actually said the word dumbass...nice system administrator, Well this worked for me and will further put my thorn in there sides, so keep uploading huge amouts of files and link them publicly and bam im sure they will tell ya to call them

I have been with Featureprice for about 3 years now, and thank god I'm leaving them. At first they were an excellent host, and then I guess they were bought out by another company. Contacting them is impossible, downtime is literally around 30%! Really! and if you need technical support you can forget about it. They will get back to you in about 48 hours and tell you that they don't see any problems and to check "your end" again. This happens EVERY time I try to get support. I've been designing websites for years and have dealt with some pretty bad companies, but Featureprice is byyyyyy fffaaarrrr the worst out there

I had a site hosted with them for nine months. The first seven months were great. The last two, however, have been a nightmare. I don't know if they are under new ownership or what. I do know that they are converting over to a new system, and I belive that is when all of the problems started.

Now mail doesn't work, and ftp doesn't work. The are either unwilling or unable to resolve the problems.

It was impossible to get in touch with a person. They ignored multiple requests for help via voicemail and email. It was as if they never existed. It was impossible to generate a trouble ticket as my UserID and Password changed during the six months I was with them and no combinations of the old and the new would allow me to get beyond the login process.
