I presently have 2 domains hosted with Global, and while I agree that sometimes it can be a bit trying, I think they really do try to fix the problems. Lately though, the downtime has gotten excessive, and I am seaching for a hosting service that understands the importance of a small site and treats it as if it were a large site.

email servers always going down - when down, expect them to be down for an hour or more - awful

I have had a site hosted with this company since mid 2000.
For two years there was absolutely no problem. Raj and Darren were great guys and reliability was wonderful.
With that said, in the last week, we've had our site down on several occasions. More importantly, we've had email down for the last three days with absolutely no fix to this problem as of yet.
I don't know what's gone on over there as of late. However, whoever has hired this Bill guy should think twice about letting him speak to clients. Never in my life have I encountered such a unhelpful and condescending person. On top of the problems encountered by the site being down/loosing emails, try having to deal with customer service that is flat out RUDE.
As for the company, I used to recommend them to friends and colleagues. I WILL NO LONGER DO SO.
In my opinion, I would stay as far away from this firm as possible. We are switching hosting companies.

Completley unacceptable amount of downtime from day one, including an entire week of having my web site and email down. Since then, it's been sporatic at best with numerous occasions of email and/or the web site being down. I currently have two domains with them and will not be renewing. I regret paying for the year in advance. Avoid them at all costs.

My site has never been down. They are not so great at answering email, but they've always answered the phone when I've called and have been able to solve any problems I had.

I was with this company for about 3 months and in November they had problems with their servers (SCSI Driver supposedly) and my site was down for over a month. I had just got it where I want it and then the service went down. They kept promising my site files/scripts were intact but they finally just said to upload everything back. Now they are trying to charge me for January and I cancelled it in December... and haven't replied to my emails. Gonna call my CC company and dispute the charge.

I agree with the 1st rating of this web site. it is very bad. I was with them for about 2 years they will answer phones. emails or anything.

1)Their phone support is ALWAYS either busy or just keeps ringing. 2)They rarely answer email support; I have sent seven support requests in the last two weeks for the same problem not one has been answered. 3)In the last six months global hosting has switched servers and software twice. 4)They make you do the file transfer when they switch. 5)The last switch (why I finally left) took me completely by suprise. My site/email was down over seven days. Global Hosting chose this method rather than keeping the two servers going simultaneously so that my site would remain up. 6)I still have not recovered my email and probably won't.
