They were a good hosting site until they tried to do an upgrade and pracically destroyed our business. We are a reseller and most of our sites were adversely affected by their upgrade and it went on for over a week.

Hypermart merged with another company on August 14th of 2003. They botched the transition to the new server farm and have lock their users out of their accounts. At one point they had a two hour rebooting of all sites including their own. A three day process has now taken over a week and a half. Currently they are displaying old versions of clients websites and are not allowing updates. I will be moving my site soon. FYI, everything was perfect before the merger, however a little overpriced.

I have had my sites hosted by Hypermart for over 5 years. Just recently (7-2003) company was purchased or in some way assiciated with Bizland. Starting 8-2003, they started talking about "coming exciting changes" which I took as upgrades. This past Monday (8-11-03) we received an email that they will be moving websites to new servers Tue-Wed-Thu. Fine. Thu. afternoon, received another email to check out the new features at 7pm. About 6pm, we started getting angry emails from subscribers not being able to access their subscriptions and non of the features on the site were working. After a couple of hours of checking and re-checking the site, everything was in order but nothing was working. I headed to their website to see the server status when I was presented with the new changes I should know about. They had changed extension on SSI, email program, restrictions on CGI plus some featured that were just discountinued. I tried customer service for three days by phone (1 hour wait) to be told the ticket is being processed. I had to set up mirror site for my customers on a free webhosting company till I can get some help. Today is 8-18-03, still mirroring off a free webhost and yet to hear from people working on my problem. While I was looking for a new web host to move to tomorrow, I thought I'll share my experience with this company.

Reliability was good, but I kept getting constant unjustified overage charges every month. One was for SQL usage, and it would arrive on the same day at the same time every month--leading me to believe it was an automated charge. Their support would not explain it to me. Other problems included them thinking my message board was some kind of "spam" tool. By the time I left I was paying the $50/month package plus overage charges. The new provider I moved to charges $10/month and works decent enough.

This is my first time ever building a web site. It is very basic and I found that for a first time user it was very simple and the FAQ pages really helped. I am now looking to build a much better and site for my church. However on the next site I will pay to stop the pop up ads.

I was sending 500 Christmas e-mail to the people of my University. And hypermart blocked my account for excesive amount of e-mails. I change to http://www.dot5hosting.com/ it cost 6 $ hypermart cost 19$ with less space and bandwidth

Signed up for their free service years ago and quickly upgraded to the ad-free version. I don't recall any downtime over the years and speed has always been good. There was one time that pop-up ads appeared on my site so I called and they rectified the issue immediately. I just wish there was POP3 accounts included in the basic package.

I tried to start the free service - but the need for a cc (for free stuff? - c'mon) - I entered all the information exactly as I had it on my statement - it kept giving me errors and would not let me proceed.
Support - just a form mail - nothing able to help me at all

Cheap price. Good service. Site's up all the time. One of the few things I didn't like about them is that you have to point your domain name to their DNS before they enter your domain on their DNS. This translates to your site down for a couple of days, but overall, everything is ok and pretty much automated.

This company is not flexible at all, and only accept CC payments instead of mail in orders. I noticed even for the free site hosting. If it's free, why in the world would you need a cc? Other companies who do the same type of hosting do not ask for that.

Server never down. Fast page loads, pretty cheap, discounts for bulk domains and good site management tools. Only downside is that monthly space allotment is small compared to others, but most sites don't need much space anyway.
