My email was down for days (due to a server problem I later discovered). When I finally got hold of someone they asked if I wanted my email moved to a server that was working, I naturally said yes... days later with no change I chased them down to be informed that , oh, I needed to *email* them the request to have it moved. This happened twice.

They mark tickets as completed wihout asking the customer if they are resolved. At which point you cant even respond... all you can do is mark them closed!

I have now been with readyhosting.com on and off for 3 years. Don’t get me wrong they are not the best. By far getting your own server would be the best. In my experience if you talk to someone at the company they will usually help you with your problem. They do answer the phone and their new customer support system is a lot better.

They had some problems last year when they moved to their new server building, but since they made that change I have noticed a great deal of improvements in the company.

I have about 10 sites on their servers and other then the occasional server issue, which is taken care of quickly, they provide better then average service for the price you pay. I have moved sites from their servers in the past and they have always been there for me when I am ready to come back after trying other web hosting companies

Other companies I have dealt with are Homestead hosting, aplus, and m6.net. Out of the preceding companies aplus is probably better then readyhosting, but not at the cost right now for my company. What ever you do STAY AWAY FROM M6.NET!

To sum it up readyhosting.com is a good host for the money and there are probably others out there that are better, but what do you want for $99 a year.

I host a large personal site for school district personnel to use as supplemental teaching material. I do not use the email, so cannot comment on that. It has been excellent for what I do and I have had no problems. My husband has a similar site with Ready Hosting and has also had no difficulty. We are adding a third educational site as I speak.

They are having problems with their Cold Fusion service and it keeps crashing, and they say their monitoring service is not working correctly either so they don't know when it goes down.

Our site has been down 10 times in the last 3 weeks.  So the average uptime of our site is probably around 70%...that is horrible!
Their support is bad and I sent an email about my problems to the president of the company and got no response.
Will be switching services asap.

One of the worst hosts I have hosted with, poor tech support, long hold times, lost data due to a SQL server drive crash, they had no backup, yet tout that they backup daily.  Sites slow, downtime, my sites were shut off after non-payment, only because they never sent me a bill or contacted me for my renewal payment.  Then it took 3 calls back over 2 days to get turned back on.  I still have my sites there, but am in the process of moving them!

Making changes to the account was very difficult. Their online help system is terrible. ....so, I called. I work in the customer service department of a web company. I would be fired if I talked to customers the way that Amber at ReadyHosting talked to me. They would NOT refund my money. I will dispute the charges with the credit card company.

I can't believe I chose them as a webhost and actually paid them a setup fee. Let's face it, Windows 2K stinks and is very inconvenient for the customer. Very limited options, CONSTANT site downtime for long periods, and faulty e-mail. When you call them to complain (after being on hold for an hour), do they do anything about it? NO.

Stay away from them whatever you do.

I now have 4 domains with them (trying to get them all used here for stats).  Their help ticket system is working and improving tech supt., however, every site I've signed up has been short a few of the features, and required help tickets to activate some.  This has included e-mail, FTP, FP ext.,CFM, etc.  I recommend testing all this and PHP, CGI, ASP, etc.  I use ALL, so I want my $$ worth.

I have had repeated problems hosting with readyhosting including failure to send invoices via e-mail, suspension of our site on multiple occasions for unexplained reasons, painfully slow responses from tech support, etc. The low price is definitely not worth all the headaches. This is the worst service and worst customer service I've ever received.

I have a middle-sized commercial website.  Their service began to degrade, but their excuse was to point at my web site.  I later determined that they had maxed their band width and just couldn't handle the load.

Considering we only paid about $8 per month, the service level was about adequate.  There has been trouble with downtime and support that was very helpful.  The breaking factor was the email.  We often had trouble attaching files to emails and just sending/receiving in general.  Since our new sites are using .Net we absolutely had to leave.  I'm now looking a new .Net host and the first one I selected has been frustrating so tar (two months).

I have found them OK... But there are the odd issues that crop up. They are slow in responding to these, and sometimes seem unable to understand English... But if you persist the message gets through.

DO NOT ask for a password protected site and expect it to be easy, however!

If you know nothing about Web Servers... Go somewhere where your hand gets held. Otherwise this place is good value for money.

There is some downtime ... That's the only real objection I have.

Lousy.  They don't know what the hell they are up to.  One techie said they were gonna move my email to another server, another said that there was no way they were gonna move it, then they just deleted it all! All in all I think I've rung the USA (from the UK) 27 times to try and sort out my email and stuff, but it's still going wrong.

We have been with them for almost 2 years, they are absolutely the worst. They have overcharged our credit card multiple times, rejects many emails and tech support does not exist.

Recent problems with Email have escalated to a point where this is down more than it is up. The most recent problem happened 02 May 2003 when the site went completely down, checking with Readyhosting was impossible as there site was down, no one was answering the phone and a check with whois.com showed Readyhosting had not renewed there own domain name and you can gazump them on it if you really wanted to. The servers are no longer there pinging provided no results and a finger search the same. Where is this host?

I leased their service for a year. Over that time the email NEVER worked and their support was not helpful.  They had a variety of excuses for the problems. The web hosting worked ok, but early this year the hard drive in their server failed and they DID NOT HAVE A BACKUP!!! They did nothing to notify me then or on other occaisions when the server was down.

ReadyHosting is affordable and provides a lot of features, like ASP and Cold Fusion support along with discounts for referrals and excellent technical support.

My only complaint would be the bandwidth issues I've run across from time-to-time.

If you're looking for applications programming environment [Cold Fusion, ASP, PHP...etc], features, space and decent bandwidth then there is no reason readyhosting wouldn't be a good choice.  I've had several questions that have all been answered promptly by the company.  Although, I will admit my one real issue with their tech support is that the customer should be the one who closes a ticket, not the company. 

However, if you are planning on having a reasonably high traffic website; then I would recommend you go elsewhere.

I hate this company. They fall, breakdown many times. One time just broke all my site with all things inside. Just say me: we broke. put everything inside again. But, they donīt tell me nothing before. Just told me this because i asked: hey, whatīs going on with my site? In other time, they just broke my site and i just canīt access your support area (www.readyhosting.com) to ask whatīs going on. and they donīt answer emails. They blocking brasilians users and now i canīt manage my site!!!

Send me a notice on Saturday that my account would be closed on Monday.  There office is closed on the weekend and the log in billing support screen is not secure.  I've had it with them and tired of giving them a chance to improve.

If your website is even somewhat important, avoid Ready Hosting. Server configuration and support are handled by less than seasoned professionals.

The staff were friendly and did their best to try to assist me at times, however a highly trained tech staff wasn't apparent.

For personal sites or hobbies, it's a great deal. For anything more serious, look elsewhere.

The e-mail server reliability is a joke. It is reseting several times a day. The web server is slightly better. But my complaint is about the tech support. You get to a point when you realize it is of no use to open tickets. The "technicians" just ignore what you write. For example, "it is 12:00 on 4/2/2003 and my site is down" and they answer "I just checked and your site is up and running and I see no problems". Bloody hello, of course, becuase it is already one day later!! But why the server has so many peaks when it doesn't respond for half an hour? 99$ is even expensive for what you get.

The web hosting is not too bad, although they have a lot of time when the system is down with no explanation.

But the e-mail system is just a joke. It is one of the most unreliable things I have ever seen. Their tech support is completely useless. For instance, if the e-mail system is down for 10 min, you open a tech support ticket. When the ticket is answered hours or days later, the usual answer is something as stupid as "I am checking the e-mail system right now and I can see it is working fine".

I've been using Readyhosting.com for 2 months and cannot get email on my pop accounts on a regular basis. They've already moved me once to a "new mail server that fixes the problem" but I still can't get email for hours at a time and when it does come it's sporadic. The tech even told me on the first support call that their email has major problems.
Everything else is about par for the course as far as service and minor problems. I cannot believe they can't run a f*&^%$ email server. DO NOT USE READYHOSTING. Unless getting email isn't important to you.

I wonder how many emails I've missed completely.

My site and web mail would become unavailable occasionally, but on March 5, 2003 they had a "hardware failure" and my site went down for THREE DAYS. I don't know if it would have ever come back up - I moved on to another host. Don't know whether or not I'll get any refund of my unused balance - they haven't responded yet.

I've had no problems with readyhosting for the past several years since they host my web site.  My web site is up 99%.  E-mail service is up 99%.  My friend followed my advise and hosted his website with readyhosting.com more than a year ago -- no problems.

After nearly 16 months of hosting with this company, both my own sites and sites for work, I have had enough.
The first sign should have been the excessive charges that were charged to my account.  When I asked about the pricing of options through email I received no reply.
**ding ding** Then when on the phone with them regarding another tech support issue, I asked again about setting up some options and what the costs were.  I was told they would be set up right away and then **inaccurately** was told there would be no charge.

But still I hosted with them.

Then after serveral problems with email, page/server load times I find out the credit card we used to set up a couple of personal sites had now been charged for another site, completely unrelated to MY ACCOUNT OR MY CREDIT CARD, and there was now roughly a $100 charge on it.
After dealing with that ove the course of 3 days it was resolved to find I could not log in to get my email.

STILL I HOSTED THERE... I didn't have enough money to setup with someone new or pay the transfers and I figured it had to get better.

Several more times problems ocurred and then in November they decided to perform an upgrade on one of their servers.  WITH NO BACK UP OR REDUNDANCY PLAN!!!...  This occured IN THE MIDDLE of GOOGLE's crawl and as a result I lost all page rank, my other search engine traffic was demolished and most of all my most productive sales site was DESTROYED less than 5 weeks from CHRISTMAS.

Not working for some time and tight with money again I had no choice but to stay with them.

FRIDAY I receive an email saying I now owe them 3 TIMES WHAT I SHOULD!!!
When I phone to question this I first get a "Its for chargeback that have been done on your credit card" WHICH WERE DEALT WITH SEVERAL TIMES PREVIOUSLY AND DIDN'T HAPPEN!! Then I get a - "Hunh thats weird.  I will have to call you back on Monday"
I then get an email saying my site will be SHUT DOWN ON SUNDAY!!!!

That is all I have to say about this operation.
Absolute Discount Prices.
Absolute C R U D billing/accounting department
Friendly but mediocre tech support.
With the exception of the server "upgrade" that cost me one of my sites, I could "live" with the other tech hassles.
No way can I live with company that can't keep track of invoices, bills, or credit card info.
Chargeback on a credit card OTHER than the one listed.
Cancelling a domain on an account UNRELATED to the one that actually owed money.
NOT EVEN CONTACTING THE DOMAIN OWNER BEFORE DOING SO!!!!!
Not registering the fact that the OWNER'S NAME was different on accounts.
REPEATEDLY TRYING TO BILL FOR PREVIOUSLY RESOLVED ISSUES.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I have fired people for showing 1/100th the ignorance and ineptitude that has been displayed by this company.

They switched off my site without any explanations or warnings.

I have had the same problem for over 6 motnhs regarding mail problems and they have not managed t resolve the issue.  I have mail delay issues where mail sent asp/through the web server have been delayed for up to 17 hours!

I've had three major failures over the last two years hosting with readyhosting. One of them lasted for over 6 weeks and in the mean time th esite wasn't available. Their support at the time was utterly terrible (non-existent actually). These days their support is better but still not good, don't expect help on issues that aren't in their FAQs list. In addition, twice they've shut me down for unknown reasons. While their plan may sound great, their service ain't. It's time for me to move on.

One more thing. Constant email problems. I've lost important emails with this company. This isn't acceptable.

The only way to describe ReadyHosting's "Tech Support" is - Completely Useless!
After they make you jump through hoops logging into the trouble ticket system over and over and over until you finally get to write your question, you actually get a fairly quick response.  The only problem is that the response most likely will not fix your problem at all.  Then they close the ticket as complete (which it isn't) and you have to go through the whole process again and again -never getting the problem resolved.  I was actually told by the guy working on my ticket that he couldn't do anything for my problem because he "wasn't a programmer, just a host provider". What??? Why are you answering the tech. support questions then? Why would someone hire you to work tech. support? Pathetic!!! It is making me go insane. 

Stay away - do not be lured to ReadyHosting by what seems to be a great deal - especially if you have a shopping cart or anything other than a plain old HTML site.

Plenty of periodic downtime - unnotified and uncompensated.  Help can be hard to reach.  I had to bug them to activate many of the services that are included.  It looks like they have way too many customers sharing one box; I know of 4 that are down right now - purchased over more than 2 years apart.

Worthless support: they are unable to grasp the problem after detailed explanations.  Answers might come fast but not the answers you might have asked for. Developing a site with ASP/Access was impossible with this host. Every time I tried to add content it crashed the server. Every time more than 3 people visited it crashed the server. E-mail hardly ever worked either. I bit the bullet, switched host and have begun remaking it using PHP.

Email often does not work.  Also could not publish to my site before. When I complained, they did apologize, saying that others on the server went way over the storage limit (they don't monitor it!) and there was no room left for me.  It was corrected quickly.

I was refered to Readyhosting by a friend who ran a very busy site.  He had problems with others until he found Readyhosting.

I transfered to them after a bad experience with GISOL.  I have to say that they have been good.  Minimal problems with up time, pretty responsive with the Customer Service Issues and they have handled my busy site without complaints.

Last month I did over 22 GB in Data Transfer and they didn't blink an eye.  They only offer one plan and while you can upgrade your webspace (only to a GB max), for many sites their one plan is great.  They lack support for things like PHPBB and do not offer MySQL.

I have no complaints at all.  A positive experience.

I host several sites with them. At first glance, you'd think they're an unbeatable value, but the problems are frequent. Hosted sites are very slow. Mail servers are very unreliable. I'm having a problem right now where I can't even email another ReadyHosting-based account. One site slowed to a crawl for an entire weekend. Tech support is poor as well. They don't contact you on unresolved issues when they say they do. Stay away!

It all started very well, when I just signed up, but in a very short time, servers were down five times and I lost loads of email several times. Opening support tickets is useless, if you get a response, it is slow or the answers are useless and avoiding the problem. Either they're growing too fast or a just amateurs. I am getting out of their servers as soon as possible

The site goes down for no reason. Today I couldn't even access readyhosting's site to find out what was going on. They've shut down the site before because of alleged non payment (nonsense) & you don't even get an apology when they-finally-sort it out. I'm just in the process of moving the site to another server.

I've been with ReadyHosting for about 8 months.  During this time I have had periods where I cannot access either web sites or email servers, and I have several of each with them.  Their service is okay, although I frequently get "convenient" answers that don't really address the problem.  Their pricing and features are good, but I'm on the verge of switching because of ongoing performance and accessibility problems.

The service I have had is worse than bad. Almost daily I am unable to access my mail for hours at a time, and more than a few times my site is also unavailable - even Readyhosting's site goes down.
E-Mail is very important so to be without it there is no point staying with this company. I plan to go elsewhere ASAP. I HATE READYHOSTING.........
