Help desk loves ignoring customers. Days go by before you get any kind of response, and then the response is usually wrong (i.e., they claim to have already fixed the problem, when in reality, they've done nothing).

I originally signed up in March of 2002 for the simple reason of very reasonable rates for a simple family email server, the ability to play with PHP and learn something about web programming in this newer language. The service went down like clockwork about once or twice a month. I didn’t feel this was too bad, because of the price. And they only offer 99% up time. If you don’t know that allows 5,256 minutes a year downtime. So, why complain about only a few hours a month down time? I never did, only submitted quick trouble tickets for their records. The trouble started this week, August 18, 2003. All of my services went down. I tried calling multiple times to the customer support team, I submitted trouble tickets, and I even talked to a “Live person” on their worthless chat support system. I can tolerate system problems, but ignoring a customer? I would lose my job at www.winman.com! I was never given a reason for the outage, and they ignored all of my submissions of troubles. Not to mention all of their phone numbers listed on their web site either had busy signals or “This number has been disconnected”.

I have learned it is worth it to pay a little more for services. I have now switched to www.apollohosting.com They have great customer service! I am very impressed; their features offered are top of the line.  I highly recommend them. Websytz.com is to busy with their Adult hosting, http://www.erotihost.com/

They had a few problems but for the money I felt it was an OK deal. Then they got sold or something and it's almost as if they are out of business. Nobody answers my e-mails or phone calls - even when I ask about upgrading. Now their Server3 (the one I'm on is down) It's been down all day. The site alert says "everything is running smoothly" but it isn't. I can't reach anyone in tsch support or billing or sales. If they aren't out of business they are sure faking it pretty well. I am getting emails from my web sers complaining and I have nothing to tell them. Even for $4/month this is not worth the hassle. one day down out of thirty is nearly 10% downtime - they advertise 99% uptime.

The Hosting is decent.... There seem to be monthly outages, that can last a few hours up to a day. Sometime the bandwith can slow to a crawl. But for the price you pay it's tolerable.

I understand you pay for performance... but for cheap reletivitly reliable hosting there are far worse alternatives out there

This company has LOTS of downtime. They just moved their servers, but had some downtime not long before that. Downtime when servers were moved. Downtime after servers moved. It's hard to get people to visit your site when every time you send them their the site's down!

It's so bad that the Websytz forum for their users to get help from eachother has been down since they moved the servers, and that was WEEKS ago.

I spent only $3/month, but I want my money back!! I'm moving my site to a new company once I have the money.

Tech support is ok and generally (though not always) gets back to you. I don't know if their 800# is working again yet or not, but it's been down for MONTHS. If you need to get ahold of them, they have a ticket system online, but all you can do is pray that it's working.

And if one of their service reps replies to this review and says I have a grudge against them, all I'm doing is reporting MY experiences with them. If I had my business in a building and the doors kept locking preventing customers from coming in, I'd expect the problem to be FIXED by the building owners.

We're spending money and expecting the "99% uptime!" they offer on their site and not getting it.

There is NOTHING on their site that says those who pay $3/month don't even get the services offered in their plan! Servers having power flowing to them, but not being able to be accessed by the internet ARE NOT UP!

We're paying for services not rendered, and though it's only $36/year, that's a lot of money for some people and much better spent elsewhere.

I have 10 sites with them. After constant problems they suggested a dedicated server which I bought. In 3 days the server they gave me burnt out, it was one ot their old ones. They gave me a new one which might be connected to one of their old 28K modems. The best I can do is 1 to 3kbps with no other traffic on my server. After being on the phone with them all day with them working on the problem my bandwidth dwindled to 200bps until the server died again one hour after their 9 to 5 technical support department closed.
Everything about this company sucks….I upgraded to a dedicated server thinking things would get better and I got a deadicated server!!!

We have thousands of extremely happy customers, so I am very surprised at this comment. A reviewer that gives us a 2 out of 10 on a cost rating when our service is $3 per month obviously has a grudge.
