and didnt notify anyone now i am being asked to pay a new company so that i can retreive my files from the server. this is something that i will not do and highly suggest that no one else does either. it's your property, you have the right to get it back.

Mr Shelton who owned web-x.net has started up a new service under
www.hostflo.net

Now they are using hostflo.net. Charged me upfront for 1 year and now my websites are down since Nov 20, 2002. Called so many times and I will file a claim in consumer court against them.

Their Gone... off the web and unreachable.. with my just sent in payment for the next year.

This host has to be the worst out there, I have 5 or so sites with them, great value deal but regularly down, nobody answers the phone, nobody answers support tickets, nobody answers emails. If you just want to park a domain and have no reliable web space or email then there are cheaper ways!

I currently host three sites with web-x and plan on renewing in january. I've been with other "budget" hosting solutions and by far this one has been the absolutely least hassle. When i have had problems, while the outsourced techs were not always useful, usually I did find that it was me that made the mistakes. When it wasn't me, they DID get it fixed ASAP.

For the money and no promises of things they didn't deliver it's a great deal. Plus they just upped the bar with lower prices and more traffic and space!

They claim to support the .net framework, but I only get error messages when trying to use the framework. I looked up those errors, sent a solution to the one and only jonathan shelton, but never got a response (now already 2 months). But I just keep on sending him a mail every 5 minutes until he replies! I suggest you do the same, mail me if you need the vb code.

The site was never activated.  24 hour activation promise, after five days I gave up on it.  Serveral email complaints went unanswered.  The credit card was charged right away though.  No phone number on the site (someday I'll learn), but one is on the CC charge, I'll be wearing it out Monday.

I signed up with Web X on a Wednesday. I recieved 1 automated email stating that my site information would be emailed to me within 24 hours and my site up after 4-8 hours of that email. It is now 9 days later and I have not seen hide nor hair of them. Several emails and their website contacts still have not resulted in my website being hosted. Had to call my bank to fight the credit card charge because of this company.

charged my card real fast, took a long time to get site up, site ran fine for a few weeeks.  One day my DNS records disappear, my email and web are gone, there is no phone number, and 24-hour web service page craps out with a server error.

Run AWAY from this company!!
1. http://www.bbb.org and check out this company, bad history.
2. I was trying to cancel the service within 14 days, but no response, and no refund!! My credit card company refused to help me, so I just lost $302 for no reason!! Definitely the scam artist on the Internet!

I have had web hosting service through web-x for about a year now.  I have had a few minor problems in the past, but all my problems have always been quickly resolved with the help of web extreme.  I think web-x is definitely worth the price (which is hardly anything at all).

Purchase hosting plan and paid up front for a year because the price was right. Right off the bat the email didn't work. Opened a ticket and got one responce, "check your settings". Made several attempt to contact this nitwit and never heard anything back, not even when I cancelled and requested my money back.
Have stopped payment on the card I used. At least I'll get my money back.
The only good thing to come out of this is that I found a host that gives me a virtual environment, unlimited storage, full control of the server and daemons, 3GB of traffic, unlimited sub domains for 1 or 2 bucks each per month. Lots more than I can put here. And it's less than $5.00 a month!

I think this company is owned by one person.  The information on WHOIS and from his support emails all belong to the same name.  Poor guy, it's such a good price, but I have never received any human responses from him for the 3 tickets I created plus 1 e-commerce hosting I have purchased.  I submitted a cancellation today, and if I don't get a refund, another review will be posted.

Just as a note to those commenting on the response times, they seem to have improved recently.  I received prompt responses to my questions about the service.  From what I've seen about the site so far, it appears that it may meet my needs pretty well

I have searched more than two our to find a hosting firm to my web site. When I found www.webhostratings.com, I felt myself luck. And this feelings grow up when I saw the Web Extreme's offer. Thanx God they are there :)

We signed up for the professional package and paid up front.. so it came out to just $12 a month.. for that kind of money it's been well worth it. We have 800MB of space, unlimited transfer, a large number of pre-installed scripts... etc. Everything has mostly worked flawlessly so far. They seem to have some down time today for some reason, can't even bring up their web page. But overall satisfaction.

I didn't actually get a chance to be hosted by them, simply because ... there is no one there!
After multiple emails (after I gave them my credit card info) all I got was an auto responder message that they will contact me within 24 hours ... yeah right.
All they did is charge my credit card for $1 . No response to multiple emails that I have send, and to make things even more better ... no phone# to call.
My advice is to stay away from companies that don't supply a phone number.

I signed up on Monday for thier Extreme Unix hosting plan. its now Thursday and I have not heard one word from them. I have emailed them several times and no response. I got someone on the support chat, but since my account was not in the system so he said he could not help me. There is no phone number to call them. I really liked thier sevices and thier plan, too bad they didn't live up to thier support promises

To be honest I can't say I ever hosted with them because after filling out the online application I have not recieved anything but autoresponse e-mails saying they would contact me within 24 hours.  I have been trying to get a response through e-mail, online requests and even the tech support chatroom.  the chatroom was the only contact that was successful but he couldn't do anything because I wasn't in the system.  Wouldn't even give me a phone # aand there are no phone #'s listed on their site.  Beware the host without a phone #.  It's a waste of time.

Well, its mostly worked out... except their majordomo has been broken for six weeks so far, and that's one of the main things we signed up for.  For some reason they are incapable of fixing it... other than that, I must admit that everything else seems to work as advertised.
