I was using a free Geocities site but once I started maxing out the bandwidth, I decided to go with one of their plans for $8.95. The service was great speed-wise and everything was easy to manage. The webstats never worked but I was using sitemeter.com, which I like.

I've had the Yahoo/Geocities service for one year and one month and only a few days ago have I had a problem with them. I changed my password and had to wait 24 hours to log back in. The next day, I still could not log in.

When I tried to get my password, they kept saying my zip code and country are not correct. I told them that I do live in the US and my zip code is correct. They said they will not help me until I get this info correct.

I politely asked them to verify my billing info and give me my password or my old password. They refused to do so. I told them I really don't want to cancel the service and lose my website, and to please give me a number to call to verify the billing info to get my password.

They continued to give me the whole speech about protecting the customers. I thought, ummm I AM a customer. Because of this, I've already signed up for a new domain, which I will never lose, and webhosting that is 2-3 times better for half the price.

Now I just need to find a way to cancel my Yahoo/Geocities account and according to their website, to do this, you have to be signed in. There is no support, email, forum, or phone number.

How is that that a company that's going to charge me for $8.95 a month for over a year not bother with me and verify my info? The company is run by a bunch of bi-polar crackheads who don't care about their customers and only want money.
