About a year ago, I requested a total transfer to a new web provider. FreeHostingWeb took it upon themselves to make a partial transfer, retaining control over the DNS settings. Recently, they told me that I had to pay their annual $35 fee or I would lose my domain name rights. Keep in mind that they go through dotregistrar.com, which charges individuals $15 annually. What FreeHostingWeb wanted the extra $20 for, I have no idea - seeing as how I haven't been using their server for over a year. I received no response to my request to change DNS. So, I sent another one, two days later, completely detailing my situation in a novelesque manner. Two days later, I received a reply, "Please send me your exatly request." Not only did they not have the time to read about my problem, they didn't even have the time to correctly spell their reply to me. Again, I detailed the problem out to them. Then, I received another response, again two days later, "What is your problem?" I outlined the problem to dotregistrar.com and they, being a good customer service organization, gave me control over my domain. Now, I don't have to deal with FreeHostingWeb again. Even though they changed their name to AAA-WebHost, they're still at the bottom of my list for providers. Trust me, stay clear of them. You'll be doing yourself a big favor.
