A truly Nightmare - Review by submitted on February 27, 2003

NEVER, EVER, EVER CHOOSE THEM.

I hosted with them two sites and since the start I got problems with them.

- They run windows comuters and were constantly under attack, including Denial-of-Service attack, viruses, etc. They have at least 10% downtime, which is unbelievable for nowadays systems. A couple of days ago, Mon-Tue they have 24 hs. downtime at once, can you believe that?

- They didn't managed to configured the server the way I requested it.

- Now I'm trying to cancel and...

- to start with these is a sentence from a live chat session with support from Infinet hosting, Inc. "so we are not going to make it easy for you to cancel". I think this should be enough, but since the story is nice and long I want to share it with you.

- They don't accept my calls.

- They don't take calls on any line.

- Some of the phone lines are disconnected. But they never informed anybody, at least me, about this "changes".

- They have a voice mail on some phone lines, but they don't return calls anyway, so it's helpless.

- I tried to send them a fax, but the fax doesn't work since Mon.; now, it's Friday and they still didn't manage to put a fax up and running, not to mentioned a IP infrastructure not even a site.

- They have a cute litle chat program to help you "live", but the personel on the support chat room doesn't have any clue about anything or they don't have the permissions to perform some tasks on behave of the customers.

- I tried to cancel and they told me I have to send them a written letter, but they don't have a fax, they have a fax number, but no fax.

- I asked them to delete the DNS entries for my sites and they deny it.

- They told me it takes them "36 hours" to delete a small entry on a DNS server, can you believe that?

- The support personal they even told me "We do not wish to do so" when chating about the cancellation.

- "you will wait 4 days for the mail" when I try to cancel that. On top of come the 36 hs. to delete the records from the DNS server and their "Queue" of other customers' cancellation. I think that in total it'll take me about 2 weeks to cancel or to force them to delete the records in their DNS server.

- They even had the impertinence to tell me that I was forcing them to lie (see transcript). I just want them to delete the DNS records for my site.

- After long I have to finally come to realize how bad of a company Infinet Hosting, Inc. is, bad for me that it took me WAY too long to realize it.

- And if it weren't enough the guy on the chat room started to ask me about cell phones and ramdom questions, just to make me angry, which came on top of me being anxious and irritated by their more than worst service.

- As a proof of all these, I attached a session on ther livehelp chatting system. I deleted my phone numbers on purpose. Unfortunatelly I didn't record the calls I exchanged with them throughout my subscription, that would have been a better proof of what I'm talking about.
