Gosh, after reading all of these comments, I'm wondering if we're all talking about the same host here... I was with Simplenet in 1997-1998 when they have their "unlimited" plans. These of course, are laughable for any serious host since the advent of cable modems, DSL and high speed internet. Yahoo aquired them and forced everyone into a 'new plan'. My pricing stayed relatively the same. I pay $34.95 a month, for the business plan, plus some extra disk space. I've have been WAY OVER my bandwidth and disk space limits for NEARLY THREE YEARS and have yet to receieve any notifications, price increases, etc. My website now tranfers about 10 GIGS A DAY and my disk space is pushing 1 gig.

They haven't noticed, or don't have the means to notice (maybe my site resides on an old Simplenet server, in a closet somewhere).

Bascially, there is NOWHERE that I could host my website for $34.95 a month. I consider myself blessed that they are either ignoring my bandwidth and disk usage, or just don't have the resources to keep track of them).

In the 5 years I've hosted with them, I've only had to get in touch with tech support 4-5 times. Typically it was something I MESSED UP ON. I've been basically immune to email problems because I had all my email forwarded to another address.

I also host with Sectorlink.com (awesome, I can't say enough about them), and run all my CGI through there. I pay 5 bucks a month for a small package there just for this purpose).

It sounds like a lot of these reviews come from people who had billing/identity problems. The Yahoo wallet makes it pretty simple to take care of everything, and I've had to retrieve my wallet password a few times because I was too stupid to write it down.

So, in general, great support (that I haven't had to use very often), fantastic service (My site very rarely goes 'down' and my transfer rates are fantastic), and their customer support, while not on par with other hosts, is just fine for someone who doesn't have to go to tech support everytime their site has a hiccup.

I know several high-profile individuals who host with Yahoo, and have heard nothing but raving reviews. I don't believe the reviews here paint an accurate picture of Yahoo's customer base. (I can understand this, because why would somebody who was happy with their host be looking for a new one?).
