It takes a day or so to get in touch with customer service, once connected they are slow, and read off scripts. Customer Service is just what I said, HORRIBLE!

My e-commerce business will stay with Apollo as long as they maintain the high service standards I have enjoyed with them. I have tried other hosts; and online hosting is a good example of 'you get what you pay for.' They are worth every penny for the no-hassles, impeccable uptime, excellent customer service, and solid packages they offer.

Fantastic service and reliability. Great Back End tools. Great for Front Bage developers. I was up and running in minutes without a domain name and they registered it for me. No confusion and no hastle.

I love this host; its features are wonderful, the uptime has been fabulous, and the customer service was great. I also loved the web-based control, because I am lazy. :) The only trouble is, it is very expensive compared to some other hosts.

You may not initially, but soon after you will have serious regrets with signing up with this company. I have had nothing but problems a few months after I signed up. I have had a variety of issues dealing with denial of access into my account administratively, changes in tools from a site editor to a single page editor and general service issues from technical support, billing and administrative services.

I like the people and services from Tech Support team. They are always nice and reponsible, they solve my questions all the time although sometimes the reponse from them came a little bit slow. ( That's the reason I vote 9)
Their hosting plans are fair and affordble.
They have a very good Control Panel, easy to use. They have a powerful on-line knowledge base too. The materials are up-to-date and very useful!
After all, I love ApolloHosting and as a reseller I love to introduce all our clients to use the service from ApolloHosting.

I built my first website in January, 2003 and chose Apollo because they came highly recommended. I used FrontPage 2002 to build my site and Apollo works great with that program. It's very easy to use. I am a complete moron when it comes to the interent, but their customer service people and chat line walked me through EVERYTHING within minutes. Their live chat feature is truly awesome. Problems are fixed before you even disconnect. I cannot describe just how great these folks have been. I am in the process of building another site. I wanted to try to find a cheaper hosting company, but will pay the extra money for a comapny who goes the extra mile. Downtime? What is that? Apollo emails you several days in advance when they are going to work on their system for a couple hours in the dead of night. Thankfully, I only received that email once. I have not received any customer complaints about my site. Congrats to Apollo. You have just earned a second account from me.

I had a terrible time with my previous host. Apollo started out as a fantasic, customer support oriented host. They have done an excellent job that I would have gladly paid more for. Everything is fine right now, but the two problems that I have had recently were resolved a bit slower than I would expect. My first issues with them were resolved using the online chat system quite successfully. Recent issues are more often being redirected to the trouble ticket system that could take two or three days to resolve. Someone mentioned issues with spam. I too am having some issues. The Postini service that Apollo hires out to filter is okay, but not that great. Bunch of stuff gets through and I wish I could have more adjustments available. I'm not going to pay for Postini in the future without a significant upgrade in performance. I'm happy - but concerned about future customer service issues. My advice to users - select Apollo. My advice to Apollo - make sure your support grows STRONGER as your business grows.

Apollo Hosting has been a great host for my site in the past three years. If I have had a problem they were on the ball and fixed it! I have only had 3 problems and each was minor in nature. Their servers are rock solid and I have not experienced any downtime at all. I highly recommend Apollo Hosting to everyone. They are the best!

For the past 2-3 weeks I have been unable to access my email. No one else with email on my domains has been able to either. We have eliminated user errors such as incorrect passwords, caps locks on, etc.
I contacted support who promptly closed my ticket with a resolution something like 'we passed it on to the email team'. I don't consider that a resolution.
I reopened the ticket only now I can't even acess the support function to check on it. It tells me I have to have a support account and when I try to submit the info to open one it tells me I already have one and if I'm having a problem to 'click here', only the 'click here' is not linked to anything.
Today, I tried submitting a request for help through their main sales page for perspective clients. I was told to send an email to help@apollohosting.com. Well, if I had a working email account I could do that, but then I wouldn't need to, would I? I suppose I'll have to open a Yahoo account so I can contact Apollo.
OR - just spend that time looking for a new hosting provider - which is what I recommend to you: GO FIND A COMPANY WITH GOOD SUPPORT. YOU MAY NOT NEED IT OFTEN BUT WHEN YOU DO IT WILL BE VERY IMPORTANT TO YOU TO HAVE IT.

I have tried to get these features activated since the beginning of 2003 without success. Their Help Desk even suggests remedies (e.g., moving my site to ASP-ennabled servers) that they have already done in the past without success. So they not only cannot help me but they don't even remember what they themselves have done.
Apparently, Apollo either cannot really accept Access-fed ASP pages or it has an arcane folder structure that FrontPage does not recognize.
It would really be nice if their technicians understood enough it to be of any help, btu their Help Desk system and folks seem designed to hold you at bay and give minimal or evasive answers.

Please pay attention to Mr. Sock Puppet at work: 4 reviews in a row giving a ranking of 10 out of 10; all on the same day; all people just gushing with pride over their web host, so much that they were just compelled to visit here and say so; that one negative posting had a response from the company, so they are obviously aware of their negative reviews here; etc. etc.
Apollo also uses other "review" sites to tout themselves as the best web host with the same methodology of an HerbaLife rep. Just trace the IPs, it's that transparent.
I have no idea if Apollo is a good host or not, but I certainly would never deal with a company that knowingly deceives the consumer, and waste our time during our web host research!

I have the following problems with email services which are reluctantly forcing me to seek out another hosting provider for the two domains currently hosted by Apollo.
1. Virus filtering is not 100%. While some infected messages have been caught, long after the service was activated, I continued to receive infected emails. Luckily, I have client-based detection/filtering, software as a backup. At best, my numerous attempts to work with Apollo Hosting support to resolve this problem have resulted in interaction with support representatives who appear technically unqualified. At worst, I receive no response whatsoever for many days or, in one case, an obviously canned response (personally signed by "Stuart") which had nothing to do with my problem.
I have asked for a way to disable the sending of notifications of infected messages via email (I just don't want to hear about it!). There appears to be no way for me to disable that feature. This is another example of non-responsiveness to a customer problem.
2. Email forwarding, especially recently has resulted in an embarrasing loss of communication with numerous colleagues. For example, I have accounts set up specifically to forward messages to a number of outside addresses (works like a server-based distribution list). It's only after many days that I eventually figure out that some or all of the dozens of messages I send out every day aren't making it to their destination. Even forwarding within the domain was broken for a while. This was eventually traced to a file attribute on the server, specific to the account.
Had I not asked the support representative with whom I interacted to check the other accounts on both domains, I'm convinced the problem would still be with me.
BOTTOM LINE: Having spent over 7 years manning front line support, I am a patient person when it comes to resolving problems. However, over the last 30 days, I have devoted way too many hours of what would otherwise be billable time, interacting with Apollo Hosting, trying to resolve these issues. I need a service provider to whom I can just pay my fees and receive a service. The time I've spent with these guys would easily pay for a service provider costing many times what I am charged.

I had previously had three sites with another company whose primary effort these days seems to be buying every other hosting company that looks their way. Slow response times, down sites and almost constant "router problems."
I have switched these three sites to ApolloHosting and they have been GREAT. Quick access, easy setup and quite a value for their price.
I would recommend ApolloHosting to those looking for a good HSP.

What Apollo Hosting won't tell you is that they farm out their tech support to a boiler room in India. I wouldn't have a problem with that if they were up front about it instead of denying it. As for technical know-how -- Ugh! Forget it. I've been around and around with them on various technical problems they inadvertantly created and I finally gave up contacting them for any reason. They also refuse to provide a direct email address for Support (because they don't want you to know their Tech Support is in India).
I'm looking for a new Host.

I am considering opening up a second website to be hosted at Apollo, and I wanted to read the other comments first. Where did these people come from? My experience with Apollo has been completely hassle-free, and the customer service at Apollo has been very friendly and helpful. And keep in mind that I am very new with website programming, so I expected frustration but it never came with Apollo.

i've had a site w/ apollo for a little over 2 yr. viewing my site is always slow to load no matter what location i am viewing from -- even at locations w/ t1 lines. last month all emails where blocked from reaching my account because their server (in err) said my account was using too much disk space. although the problem was fixed once i contacted someone at apollo, i recieved no notification that i wasn't recieving emails until i discovered the problem myself. anyway, apollo is not the greatest host for the price and i am looking elsewhere.

Apollo caught my attention because of their feature-packed hosting plans and reasonable prices. I am now discovering, though, that their page-load and shell access speeds are middling at best; in addition, FTP connections are routinely dropped (often in mid-transfer), and sporatic "Server Not Found" errors and page stalls occur far too frequently.

Their customer service is really poor. They've got 3 people in billing who administer an automated system WAY beyond their capabilities. Their customer service supervisor, Jeff, is a jerk. He should be fired. Tell him to buzz off if you have the unfortunate necessity to speak with him. Their host worked well enough, was up a good amount of the time and got running without too many hang-ups (other than that it took lots of initiative on my part to get the ball rolling, but to be expected).
Again, 2 stars cuz it worked, but their service could be no worse.

We have numerous channels of support including toll free support, 24/7/365 live support, and even a comments form that goes straight to the president of the company telling us what our customers want/need from us. When a problem isn't solved immediately our team considers it an emergency! It is not something we take lightly I assure you! Jeff no longer works for us. We have a new Technical Support Supervisor Bob who works very closely with every customer whose problem is escalated to his level. We have won many awards for our customer support, server speed and reliability, and hosting plans. Many rating companies consider us within the top 10 hosting companies. And, we are usually the first hosting company to offer new services, including our new SPAM/Virus email filtering being offered as of this week. We do apologize that your experience was a bad one. But I assure you that we want to make it up to you. If there is anything we can do to bring you back as a customer, we are willing to do that. Just let us know. I have four web sites hosted by Apollo and they have been absolutely great. Yes, we've had occasional problems but those were caused by Microsoft and their tech support people are competent and very pleasant and EASY to reach.
this is a fabulous change from the horrible experiences that I had with Interland and I would recommend them highly.

Apollo Hosting (http://www.apollohosting.com) Reseller Plan has the following issues: · Reseller anonymity issues: o The icons on the Resold Account’s Control Panel reference Apollo's IP address (graphic properties and on browser status bar while site loading). o Email Auto-Responder “headers” contain multiple references to Apollo (name server and IP). o When using FTP (cuteFTP or WSftpPro) to connect to Resold accounts, Apollo name server and IP show in connect log. · Apollo’s website states that the Control Panel can be customized to contain your business logo. However, their tech-support negates this fact. · Control Panel has 3 "vote" icons with no explanation of each. Upon clicking, they immediately register a vote with various host-rating services in favor of Apollo Hosting. But (1) why are these on a "site control panel" and (2) why not offer an HONEST way of voting where you get to choose the level of satisfaction. Here are the vote sites: o http://www.hostindex.com (ID = Tamara) o http://www.webhostdir.com (hostid = 5508) o http://www.webhosters.com (company_id = 1019) · Parked Domain names cannot be seen/listed! Neither on their Control Panel nor on an invoice. · Even though you have Virtual Domain Name Servers enabled when you register a resold account, Apollo doesn't give you the opportunity to put the new domain under your Virtual DNS. Instead, they put it under their DNS and ask you to contact support. Then, support initiates a change, but that change request has to infiltrate the internet -- another 24-48 hrs on top of the initial time to register the Resold account. By setting up Resold Accounts under their DNS, Apollo Hosting negates the entire purpose of having a Virtual DNS enabled!!! As you know, Resellers enable a Virtual DNS for the sole purpose of putting their Resold Accounts on it. So, why put us through the hassle of a two-step, timely process? Apollo Hosting truly needs to provide the ability, even if optionally, to place a new Resold Account under a VDNS during the initial set up process. · Apollo’s Control Panel offers MySql but (a) at older version 2.0.1, and (b) they won't upgrade or support it (c) it does not work at all. You are *completely* on your own. · Apollo’s website claims they will optionally transfer a domain for you for free, but tech-support states they can't. Even if they did, their website states it will send an email to the current domain owner as "from Apollo Hosting” to request transfer approval, but this compromises a reseller’s anonymity.
