I for one am filing a complaint with InterNic. I hope the rest of you will follow suit! The only way we can beat these people is by digging into their business like they have dug into ours.  If InterNic gets enough complaints, the can remove Infinology's ability to sell domain names! Infinology is the worst abuse of internet business trust I have ever seen

DON'T COME NEAR THESE PEOPLE! Their support department is clueless, you cannot reach a general manager or CEO to complain.  I was told "We like your money, but your problems are not important to us!" My last attempt for support was on August 23, 2002 it is not September 27, 2002 and I still have not gotten my problems resolved...again! I am going elsewhere before my ulcer medicine costs me more than my hosting.

I have been with them for 9 months now and they are usually down a minimum of one - two hours every day. They just now came back up after being down for 6 hours. No thanks.

Infinology had a server crash and lost the data for 600 sites (their words).  Their "compensation" plan was to give credit (the amount of which the billing rep could not specify) for the amount of time the account was down.  If you decided that you wanted to get hosted somewhere else, where this kind of problem doesn't happen, then there is NO COMPENSATION.

If you're skeptical and don't believe me try calling their customer support (it rings and rings and no one picks up)--however, they are happy to sell you their service (the sales line is up).  Also, if you try customer support through the sales line you will hear about another server that is down until Monday (today is Wednesday) for maitenance.  I think this speaks for itself.  (Today is 9/18/02).

We have experienced multiple outages recently. Stuff happens, but Infinology would not communicate the problem in a timely manner. And the clincher? Their backup "died". This host lost all our files. Their solution? They are providing us with 24/7 phone support-- but they rarely answer the phone. It's a meaningless solution. If you want uptime and good support, look elsewhere.

They are down all the time - even the mail server. And then in early September they had a failure that lost all our website data and took them a week to get us to a new server so we could upload our site again. We had joined zerosetup.com that got bought out by infinology. We thought we were ok because they got good reviews at cnet but apparently they have gone to shit. We paid for a year upfront but we are out of there as soon as we can get a new host.

My site has been down for periods of 2 to 72 hours in less than 9 months that I've had the service.
This last time:
- Lost my entire web site
- Did not have a backup copy
- Emailed tech support 3 times.  I'm still waiting for an answer.
- Called tech support.  After 5 attempts Alvaro answers my call and tells me there is nothing he can do.  The only thing I could do at that point was to EMAIL billing department to cancel my account.
- I emailed billing department and created several trouble tickets and still haven't heard back from anybody at INFINOLOGY.

I am so fed-up with this hosting company.  My website has been down for over two weeks and I've had absolutely no response to trouble tickets or phone calls.  Apparently my site is being transferred to a new server that has presumeably crashed.  I was never informed about this move and I found out my site was down from a customer on a newsgroup.  After a lengthly wait on the phone, tech support has informed me that I will be receiving instructions on how to upload to the new server.  It's been 3 days and I still have not received those instructions.  I'm so mad that I canceled my subscription eventhough I'm going to lose money on my annual payment.  It doesn't matter.  I've already lost thousands by having my site down for two weeks.  My advice is STAY AWAY!

I originally started hosting my site with Primemaster back in August 2001 before Infinology bought them out.  Primemaster was great, cheap price, excellent uptime, original control panel was simple and easy to use, everything was setup to give the user enough control to do what they wanted w/o too much overhead.  When problems occurred, tech support was responsive enough, and gave plausible explanations as to what is happening, and usually kept their promises as to when problems would be fixed.

Fast forward to beginning of 2002, when Infinology buys them out.  Ever since then, they've had constant "system upgrades", outages are rampant, new control panel is confusing, pricing structure makes no sense, and tech support is virtually non-existant.  They provide no notice of downtime, even for "scheduled maintenance", and provide spurious estimates as to when service will be restored.  Uptime guarantees are a joke -- I'd say they're up approximately 80-90% of the time.  In the past month, my site has been out 5-6 times for anywhere between 2 to 24 hours at a time.  I rely on my site for visibility and w/o uptime, I can't convey my message to those who would like to view it.  Money back is a joke -- they offer it, but their Terms of Use explicitly state no money back offered.  I wouldn't even be surprised if they try to steal my domain name from me when I cancel and setup with another provider, which they can not legally do since I own the rights to the name, but I'll bet they try.

Bottom line -- stay away from this company.  They were good when they were Primemaster (AKA Zerosetup), but since the merger, they are now completely impersonal, incompetent, and only interested in your money, not your service.  The only good point I'll give them is that it's still cheap, which is why they get a 2/10 and not a 1/10.  But otherwise this webhosting provider is just plain out bad.

Infinology has got to be the worst hosting co. in the world.
Today is the second time in two weeks that my sites have been down for over 2 days at a time.
E-mails and phone calls have been ignored. I think that a explanation is in order for this amount of down time.
I wouldn't recomend anyone going to infinology , it was a big mistake for me. I am looking to move as of now

They don't send a warning when they take your site down for maintenence. They don't respond when you email support. They have detelted my whole web site with out explanation.

They had the nerve to warn me about a security issue regarding formail.pl (an old issue I might add) and to remove it from my site during this time frame. This is a script I don't even have or use.

I'm considering reporting these folks to the FTC.

I signed on with infinology about 6 months ago to host a few of my web sites. what a mistake.
sites are out on a regular basis,
e-mail is out or not avaliable and
slow most of the time. When there is a problem it never shows up on their site. and when they finally respont they seeem to be PO at you for complaining. (sometimes they just ignore you) Phones are hardly ever answered and when they are the personal are nasty and unhelpful. All the fluf that they promise on there web-site is pure BS. I'm now in the process of relocating my sites.  In my opinion they are the worst.
I have used budget services that
had better service and at a much lower cost.

Our site has been down an average of 4 times per week since our use of Infinology. We utilize Infinology to host images for our main site. We have made many attempts to communicate with them via phone and email to rectify their service levels issues but to no avail. An Infinology rep (Johnny Hun) even hung up on our CEO when he called to get clarification on their 99.9% uptime advertisements. Your money is best spent elsewhere!

I did some considerable research when picking a provider for a new site I was building and looked for suggestions and reviews from CNET.com.  There editors chose infinology as one of there top 5 choices but obviously don't host any of there sites there. I have experienced very slow response time. Our site is down quite a bit and doesn't seem very reliable for use as a business tool. They spoke of there uptime record and speed ability when selling me on the account. Now I just hope I can get my money back quickly!

This is by far the worst company in existence.  Read the other reviews to learn what I'm talking about.  I could go on for hours about how terrible their service is.  They basically stole $168.40 from me!

Too bad that Infinology can't manage to keep their servers running. On paper, they have some great plans--hundreds of MB to several GB of storage space for a small amount of money each month; an extensive and easily understood "control panel" to use in setting parameters for your site; all the usual bells and whistles, including cgi-bin, MySQL, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, none of this means very much if the server isn't running.

I've been using these people for about a year (since August 2002), and the server outage problem has been getting steadily worse. I'm now preparing to move my web site to a different host--there is just too much downtime to stay with Infinology.

Too bad, really. If it weren't for the awful reliability, this would be an A-1 web hosting service....

Have been with Infinology for 6 months.  My site seems to go down 2 to 3 times a week from 1 hour to 12.  Tech help is by email and just hope you don't have to use it on the weekend because no one will get back to you till Monday.  They won't even let you buy more database space beyond the 10 megs on thier advanced plans.  My site uses about 30 megs of 2000 megs in my plan.  Many times I can't even upload to my site because the hard drives are full.  They pack too many site on one server so you couldn't use the 2000 meg limit even if you needed to.

Am here now trying to find a new host!!

Our organization is made up of a team of women that provide guides and resources for anyone interested in starting their own Child Day Care Center. We are a real business and take pride in our product and our Website. Here’s our real review from a real business that really (unfortunately) hosted several Websites with Infinology for 1 year.

Here’s a breakdown of our experience:

Infinology’s servers are consistenly down, so much that 50% of the time we checked our Websites to see if they were online and functioning properly, we received an error message that read “Page cannot be displayed error – Sever cannot be found!”. Not to mention, the secure server was unreliable from the start and frequently dropped packets, resulting in error messages and broken sessions for our shoppers. Anyone involved in ecommerce knows the importance of a reliable host. For those of you that don’t know, an unreliable host results in little or no sales, and that’s exactly what happened to us.

Calling Infinology’s toll-free number 4 or 5 times a day to have them put our Website back online was a daily routine, and once our Websites were finally fixed they would only remain up for a few hours and sometimes only minutes before going down again. Then our staff would have to hop right back on the telephone again or send a support request via email to Infinology to get our Websites back online. This was the case with all 5 of our Infinology hosting plans, so you can imagine that this almost became a full-time job for our staff.

They are always blaming the downtime on their backbone provider, and can give no time estimate for a resolution. They advertise to have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, but the only thing that we have ever received for having our Websites down many days at a time are headaches and no revenue! They have swindled us several times into upgrading our hosting plans to higher more expensive plans only to discover the same problems again. The only reason our company decided to take Infinology up on their offer to upgrade our original hosting plan was because they advertise a "30-day money back guarantee, **full refund**, no questions asked!", but when we decided to cancel just a couple days later (because we were experiencing the same unreliable hosting problems-“Page cannot be displayed error – Sever cannot be found!”), we found that we would be paying a huge non-refundable set-up fee which we were never told about! This was not your ordinary $20 set up fee either, it was a least $50.00, which can hurt when your running a small Internet business. We eventually got our money back after several emails and phone calls telling them we were going to request a charge back from our bank and report them to the Better Business Bureau. Forget about any sort of refund from Infinology without putting up a big fuss!

Most of the time it’s impossible to reach any human being at Infinology by telephone (only the same message recording, "Due to the high volume of calls we are not able to take your call...etc"). Our staff has left them plenty of messages, and never once have we receive a phone call back. The only time that we ever received a phone call from Infinology was to confirm our payment when we signed up with their hosting service. Well they sure got our money!

The Infinology staff is rude and almost always confrontational. They often reply back with unhelpful smart remarks. The online support person will often ignore you when you have a serious technical problem or complaint. Just recently our company emailed the Infinology support team when we couldn't pull up our Website online, and this time they replied back, "Were working on it, please don't email us anymore when your site is not working because we know already!" But whenever we didn't email support regarding this matter, our Website would remain offline for several days and our customers would become frustrated and begin to wonder if we were still in business. We think it's grossly unprofessional that Infinology would know of long periods of server downtime, and not email their customers to let them know.

Just recently Infinology shut down all 5 of our Websites for having a Free Links page on one of our Websites. Our Free Links Page allowed our visitors to post a free link to their Website. In return they were sent an email from us conforming their post. According to Infinology this is "spamming". They pulled the plug on all 5 of our Websites completely without warning or explanation. They still have not provided our company with any proof of the alleged “complaints” they received. Bottom line, they are not willing or able to deliver on the promises in their hosting agreement, and I think they are deliberately trying to get rid of customers that need support or complain when something is wrong with their service. We are currently considering a lawsuit with Infinology and would like to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

If your thinking of using Infinology for any sort of hosting, whether it be a virtual private server, dedicated server or shared hosting plan, you better think again! Avoid Infinology like the plague. They are unprofessional, disorganized, and unreliable, and definitely not trustworthy. We have no idea what the inside of their operation looks like, but we shudder to image it. We work very hard to run a successful Internet business, and just wished they had done the same.

If you truly care about your business, look for another hosting company. Putting our Website in their hands was the worst business mistake we’ve ever made!

The first week with this host, the email and Web hosting went down for multiples of hours on two consecutive days.  Neither of which showed up on their "Outages" page.  Not a good sign when a new host goes down twice in the first week of service.
